Update on the fatal crash in Massapequa

The NYS Police which took over the investigation released a statement today to the public. This was a result of a single vehicle crash on the Southern State Parkway eastbound by Exit 29 in Massapequa around 11pm. In the front seat was the male, aged 19, driver who was allegedly impaired by drugs from the police report as a College Point resident. The passenger was also a male, 23, from Elmhurst. The medical examiner stated in the back there were two female passengers, 21 and 23 and both were pronounced dead on the scene after the crash. One victim is the sister of the driver and the other is from Elmhurst.

Police also stated speed played in the part before crashing toward a tree in the woods after losing control.

The driver has been charged with drugs, assault, aggravated vehicular homicide, vehicular manslaughter and slew of more charges.

The investigation continues.
