Two parties at odd on gun control in NYC

NYC currently under the Democratic party is working hard on gun control after the violence weekend. The major incident was at gun free zone Times Square where a male, 17 was taken into custody after two people shot around 1:20am on August 9. One of the victims was a first time tourist. There were six different shooting incidents in NYC alone.

For Queens, the major one is a dispute from LIRR in Jamaica stemming to Valley Stream where one was shot involving teens.

Also, there were multiple shots fired in Ozone Park, Astoria and the usual Frannie Lew this time on 249th Street on Sunday afternoon causing drivers to run for cover.

Democrats say crime is down despite all the incidents while Republicans say criminals belong in jail. NYC is in need of more funding from taxpayers to create programs for violent offenders with love, compassion and respect. However, since both the state and city budget has passed, a new budget must come from the federal side so until then people will have to remain alert and stay safe in NYC.
