A victory for organized labour in NYC today.

First two casino licenses will go to Queens. Two, the NYC Mayor announced all property owners can apply for a basement apartment, attic apartment, backyard apartment, attached apartment, garage apartment and anything goes apartment around a property.

Again, must apply first for the program called ancillary dwelling units (ADUs) with the city. The zoning, construction, fire safety, and occupancy will be inspected by the building dept. The construction once approved must be done by a licensed contractor usually aligned with unions the city will recommend.

Today, most of the applications were filed from Jackson Heights Corona and Flushing property owners who are anticipating the largest crowd market with the casino, soccer, baseball and so much to do with no savings. The application is now open for all and architects are the best way to start with the plan.

Remember, this is government regulated and enforcement fines can bring the city a nice income to expand the budget.

Of course, tenants' issues will go to housing court. Neighbors can call 311 for complaints.
