Two Flushing residents hospitalized after contracting Legionnaires disease

NYC Dept of Health are stationed at 34-20 137th Street, the Latimer Gardens after two people were contracted with Legionnaires disease last week. The health dept continue to test the waters in the apartment of each tenant's unit. The investigation was part of NYC Housing Preservation, part of public housing with one still in the hospital while the other is confined to the apartment. The housing dept is installing a system, copper silver ionization to disinfect the water and recommends using cold water. The building doesn't have cooling towers.
