Tractor trailer driver dead after hit by vehicle in Maspeth

Police reported a driver standing outside next to his tractor trailer was struck by a vehicle died. The incident was reported around 3am on Grand Avenue by 57th Street in Maspeth. Police sources stated the tractor trailer driver existed in the eastbound lane of Grand Avenue when another driver, female, 43 of the vehicle, a Chevy sedan going west swerved over the double yellow line and struck. Afterward the Chevy hit the parked tractor trailer. The tractor trailer driver died at the scene. The driver of the Chevy is cooperating with the police.
