Tire flew off from a moving car to another on LIE

Police reported a tire from a moving vehicle somehow fell off and hit another moving vehicle. This is on the LIE by Exit 52 in Dix Hills. Reported the vehicle was heading westbound when tire came off and hit the car going eastbound. The driver going eastbound is taken to a local hospital with serious injuries. Delays on both directions.
