The time is now for NYC winter

With inflation at 8.7% the highest since 1991, NYC Mayor's Office reported more bike lanes and pedestrian islands will be added. With more street closures coming in the summer, now it's the time to practice and prepare using bike lanes due to the high cost of gas for vehicles.

From the NYC Dept of Transportation, under the new program, Street Plan, another 250 miles of bike lanes, 150 miles of bus lanes by eliminating lanes to single vehicle and more pedestrian islands within five years.

The plan is to phase out vehicles in congested areas by using bikes, walk or taking public transportation for long trips.

With rising crimes in NYC, either public transportation or bike alone in the winter for work and getting around are the options.
