Tent camps are being placed after time expired

Migrants have set up tents around local shelters after their 30 days and 60 days time frame expired. Randall's Island has migrants pitched their own tents while waiting for an indoor shelter due to the cold weather. Thousands of migrants have not been above to secure a place under the city’s shelter program as of yet.

As for Creedmoor, several migrants stated they need to go door to door in the Glen Oaks Bellerose Floral Park Queens Village vicinity for a place to sleep voluntarily by knocking on doors where residents are calling the police. Since migrants are banned from cooking inside tents, some prepared meals on Hillside Avenue and 235th Street.

Security has increased at tents after thefts from lockers. The Mayor’s Office confirmed metal detectors will be installed in the coming weeks.

Subways have increased with migrants sleeping and going through garbage bins for food. Meanwhile, benches on Jamaica Avenue to Jericho Turnpike have been removed after residents complained of migrants sleeping, harassing and loitering from Bellerose to Floral Park.

Today there was a press statement between Mazi Pilip and Tom Suozzi. Pilip wanted the border closed while Suozzie offered some ideas without disclosing details. Suozzi does not support the border shutdown.

Another name making the news is former Governor Andrew Cuomo who is also against the migrant crisis in NYC.

Despite voting in favor of migrants by northeast residents, none are willing to step up to house them in their homes in the Glen Oaks, Bellerose, Floral Park and Queens Village vicinity.
