Suspect wanted for scamming seniors in New Hyde Park and Bayside

On June 3 morning, a senior male living on Langdale Street and 83rd Avenue in New Hyde Park received a call from someone pretending as a grandson in need of $10,000 for bail after the arrest. The victim agreed and the suspect's accomplice came by home to collect the money. The victim notified police afterward. Then police setup a second payment to apprehend the accomplice. That accomplice was arrested on Langdale Street and 83rd Avenue shortly. On June 15 afternoon, the prime suspect called another senior citizen in Bayside with the same story. The resident, a male, 94 year old living in the vicinity of 26 Avenue and 210 Street gave $9,500 to the suspect. Police described the suspect as male, Hispanic between 20 and 30 years old. Ongoing investigation.
