Suspect wanted for attempted luring in Long Island

The SCPD reported today around 7:30am on Monday, three students were lured by a suspect driving a minibus.

It happened near a school on Beecker Street in Ronkonkoma.

One of the students was called by name from the suspect to get in the vehicle to drop them off to school faster. The students refused. The students were waiting for a school bus. Shortly, the assigned school bus arrived and told the driver who then alerted the police. The students stated the vehicle has Route 13 written on the side but no school information. The suspect is described as a middle aged, dark skinned male with an accent. Ongoing investigation.

Update - The school released statement it was a miscommunication but additional details were not provided.
