Suspect arrested for robbery at New Cassel TD Bank

The Major Case Bureau reports the arrest of a Wyandanch man for a Robbery that occurred on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at 10:50 am in New Cassel.

According to Robbery Squad Detectives, Joseph Mann, 49, of 33 Lake Place entered the TD Bank located at 999 Old Country Road. Mann approached the teller and passed a note demanding money. The teller did not comply and the police were called. Mann then fled the scene. There were 4 employees and no customers inside the bank during this incident.  

A short time later, he entered another TD Bank located at 1200 Wantagh Avenue in Wantagh. Mann approached the teller and jumped over the counter, removing an undisclosed amount of US currency before fleeing from the location.  At the time of the robbery, there were 3 employees and 1 customer present.

No injuries were reported.

A subsequent investigation was conducted and Mann was located on Rockaway Boulevard in Queens at 6:22 pm on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 and placed into custody for both incidents.  The investigation further revealed that the defendant was found to be in possession of a white rock like substance believed to be cocaine.

Defendant Joseph Mann is charged with (2) counts of Robbery 3rd degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 4th Degree and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree. (From NCPD)
