Suspect arrested for burglary in Levittown

The Second Squad reports the arrest of a Levittown man for Burglary that occurred on Monday, September 2, 2019 at 11:45 am in Levittown.

According to detectives, the male victim, 62, returned to his residence, observed a kitchen window open and the screen to be damaged. The victim proceeded to go upstairs to the second floor and observed a male going through his son?s dresser draws. The son?s television was also damaged. The victim confronted the male who was carrying his son?s backpack and video gaming console. A brief struggle ensued and the subject was subdued.

Upon police arrival, Joseph Roepke, 21, of 192 Shelter Lane was arrested.

Defendant Roepke is charged with Burglary 2nd Degree and will be arraigned on Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at First District Court, Hempstead. (From NCPD)
