State police arrest Missouri man on weapons charges following in the Town of Clarkstown

The New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation at Middletown arrested Jason Salvatore, age 37, of Chesterfield, Missouri, on May 4, 2026, on weapons charges following a road rage incident.

Salvatore was charged with the following:

Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree, Loaded Firearm, a class C felony

Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd Degree, Ammunition Feeding Device, a class D felony

The investigation began on May 4, 2026, at approximately 1:43 p.m., after troopers out of State Police Haverstraw barracks responded to a road rage incident on the Palisades Parkway in the area of exit 9 in the town of Clarkstown, NY. During the investigation, Salvatore was found to be in possession of a Glock 19 with a loaded high-capacity magazine. Salvatore was taken into custody and transported to State Police Haverstraw for processing without incident.

Salvatore was arraigned at the Town of Clarkstown Court and was remanded to Rockland County Jail with bail set at $10,000 Cash, $25,000 Bond, and a $100,000 partially secured bond. Salvatore is set to appear on May 8th, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. in the Town of Clarkstown Court. The 56-year-old victim was granted a full stay away from Salvatore.
