State of the City address highlights

NYC Mayor di Blasio gave his State of the City address today and here are the highlights. di Blasio signs an Executive Order to create the Mayor's Office of Tenant Protection.

However, the City Council already had mandated an Office of Tenant Advocate while back but funding was never allotted in place.

This is regarding lawsuits filed on behalf of NYCHA residents delayed for a long time. His main statement was Paid Personal Time stating 1 in 4 will benefit the 10 paid holidays.

He wants thee MTA buses to increase speed to reduce the wait. New ferry service are coming in 2020 to 2021 to Coney Island, Bay Ridge, Staten Island to west side of Manhattan, Throgs Neck and in 2019 to Brooklyn Navy Yard. For Flushing, College Point and northeast Queens are under review.

On the light side, the mayor stated all pre-K and 1st graders will be eligible for free eye glasses while attending public schools.

The mayor didn't say anything except one line for Amazon in LIC and Target in Jackson Heights.
