On June 23, 2026, at approximately 11:24 a.m., the New York State Police were contacted by the New York Mills Police Department regarding a welfare check at a residence located on New Hartford Street in the village of New York Mills.

Upon arrival, a deceased individual was discovered inside the residence. New York State Police responded and began the investigation, which determined the individual had been deceased for an extended period of time.

The deceased was identified as June C. Green, age 84 at the time of her death, of New York Mills.

The investigation determined June Green had medical conditions and disabilities that prevented her from caring for herself. Jaime Green, was identified as her caretaker and resided at the residence with McLennan. Jaime Green and Shannon McLennan were transported to Oneida County CAP Court for arraignment.

The investigation remains ongoing.
