State Police arrest three and seize an illegally possessed firearm following Salem traffic stop

On April 16, 2025, State Police of Greenwich arrested:

Jasmine Wendell, 37, of Poultney, VT, for:

Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the second degree

Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the third degree

Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the third degree

Criminal Possession of a Firearm

Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the fourth degree

Two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the fourth degree

Three counts of Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the second degree

Two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the seventh degree

A Public Health Law violation

Lori A. Warner, 58, of Fairhaven, VT, was arrested for two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the seventh degree and a Public Health Law violation.

Lane R. Gibbs, 22, of Poultney, VT, was arrested for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the seventh degree and multiple Vehicle and Traffic Law violations.

On April 15, 2025, at about 11:50 p.m. State Police stopped a vehicle on State Route 22 in Salem, NY for a Vehicle and Traffic Law violation. The driver was identified as Gibbs. The passengers were identified as Wendell and Warner. During the stop Troopers observed multiple glass smoking devices in the vehicle containing drug residue. Further investigation discovered Wendell illegally possessed a handgun, which had been reportedly stolen, an illegal double-edged weapon, felony weight narcotics, psychedelic substances, and other drug paraphernalia.

All three were arrested and transported to SP Greenwich for processing.
