State Police arrest Nassau man following multiple burglary investigations

On July 22, 2025, State Police with the assistance of the Schodack Police Department arrested John G. Weinheimer, 35 of Nassau, NY for:

Two counts of Burglary in the second degree

Burglary in the third degree

Grand larceny in the fourth degree

Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the fourth degree

Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the fifth degree

Two counts of Criminal Mischief in the fourth degree

Two counts of Petit Larceny

On June 30, 2025, at approximately 8:00 a.m. Troopers responded to the report of a past burglary of a business in Nassau, NY. The investigation determined Weinheimer allegedly forcibly entered the unoccupied business during the overnight hours. While in the business Weinheimer reportedly damage property, consumed products belonging to the business, and stole money.

On July 19, 2025, at about 2:09 p.m. Troopers responded to the report of a past burglary of a camping trailer in Nassau, NY. The investigation determined Weinheimer allegedly forcibly entered the unoccupied camper during the overnight hours of July 18, 2025, into the morning of July 19, 2025. Weinheimer reportedly caused damage to the camper and stole multiple items from within it valued at more than $1,000.

On July 21, 2025, at approximately 5:47 p.m. Troopers responded to a camping cabin in Nassau, NY for the reports of a past burglary. The investigation determined during the previous overnight hour Weinheimer allegedly entered the unoccupied cabin without permission and stole an item from within.

Weinheimer was located on July 22, 2025, in Nassau, NY where he was taken into custody. While being taken into custody multiple items that had reportedly stolen during these incidents were located and seized. Weinheimer was transported to SP Schodack for processing. He was later arraigned at the Schodack Town Court where he was remanded to the Rensselaer County Correctional Facility without bail.
