State Police arrest Melrose man for DWI and felony drug possession following Clifton park crash

On January 19, 2025, State Police of Clifton Park arrested John V. Reinhart, 45, of Melrose, NY, for

Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the fourth degree

Criminal Possession of Cannabis in the third degree

Obstructing Governmental Administration in the second degree

Resisting Arrest

Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the first degree

Driving While Intoxicated and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations.

On January 19, 2025, at about 3:35 a.m. Troopers responded to the reports of a one-car crash on State Route 146 in Clifton Park, NY.  The driver of the vehicle was identified as Reinhart.  Reinhart was uncooperative with the investigation. While being taken into custody, He resisted arrest. Further investigation discovered felony-weight narcotics and an illegal amount of cannabis in Reinhart’s vehicle.

Reinhart was transported to SP Clifton Park for processing, where he refused to provide a sample to determine the content of his blood. He was arraigned at the Clifton Park Town Court, where he was remanded to the Saratoga County Correctional Facility without bail.
