Single crash on the Van Wyck was a mess

Police closed off the Van Wyck Expressway northbound last night after a single vehicle crash resulting in amputation. The incident was reported around 9pm by the LIE. A 24 year old was driving the BMW M6 while speeding and lost control. A passenger inside the vehicle lost an arm after the incident. Several witnesses who called 911 stated the vehicle was recklessly crossing all three lanes scaring other drivers. The driver suffered minor injuries. As of today, no charges except a speeding ticket.

According to a lawyer who is familiar with the case stated it’s a civil matter involving the loss of body part resulting from the crash. NYPD stated no alcohol or drugs were involved.
