Sexual abuse investigation leads to Felony arrest in Columbia county

The New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) in Livingston announce the arrest of Jared M. Busta, 26, of Hudson, NY, following an investigation into allegations of sexual abuse.

On July 6, 2025, investigators received a report alleging that Busta engaged in sexual contact with a child under the age of 13. As a result of the investigation, Busta was arrested and charged with Sexual Abuse in the First Degree, a Class D felony.

Busta was arraigned in Greenport Town Court and remanded to the Columbia County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail, $10,000 secured bond, or $20,000 partially secured bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on July 7, 2025, at 3:00 PM.

This investigation remains ongoing.
