Robbery at 711 in Bethpage

The Major Case Bureau reports the details of a robbery that occurred on Thursday, August 24, 2023, at 3:05 AM in Bethpage. According to Robbery Squad Detectives, a subject walked into the 7/11 store located at 4220 Hempstead Turnpike and grabbed several items before approaching the cash register to pay for the items. The cashier, a 22-year-old male opened the cash register at which point the subject walked around behind the counter and displayed a large knife. The victim, in fear for this life, retreated and went into a back room and locked the door. The subject proceeded to take several hundred dollars in US Currency from the cash register and multiple packs of cigarettes before fleeing the scene on foot, traveling eastbound on Hempstead Turnpike. No injuries were reported at scene. The investigation is ongoing. The subject is described as a white male, approximately 5’7’’ tall with a thin build and partially bald head. He was last seen wearing a black face mask, black hooded sweatshirt, black pants and grey shoes.
