Robbery hit and run and one dead in LIC

Police have closed off Borden Avenue and 21st Street in Long Island City reporting an innocent pedestrian was struck by a U-Haul truck with Arizona license plates and died.

This was a pursuit of the stolen truck from the local rental when calls came in for a robbery.

The pursuit started around 9pm tonight.

Police terminated the pursuit at the intersection.

Ongoing investigation.
