Road rage turned into robbery in Elmont

Fifth Squad Detectives report the details of a Robbery that occurred on Thursday, October 10, 2019 at 7:45 a.m. in Elmont.

According to Detectives, a female victim was driving southbound on Elmont Road when she became involved in a dispute with the operator of another vehicle. While stopped in traffic on the overpass to the Southern State Parkway, the male subject exited his vehicle and began punching the side view mirrors of the victim?s car. As the victim got out of her car to take pictures of the damage, the subject shoved the victim and took her phone. He then threw the phone over the overpass and down onto the Southern State Parkway before fleeing southbound on Elmont Road. The subject is described as a male black, approximately 5?9? tall, medium build, wearing a black hat, black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans. He fled in a black BMW sedan. The victim was not injured.
