Road rage on the LIE with shots fired

Last night around midnight police shut down the LIE eastbound by Exit 23, Springfield Blvd in Bayside reporting of road rage with multiple shots fired.

From police statement, one of the driver was going slow angering another driver who took out a gun and fired into the vehicle.

The victim moved to the right shoulder for short time while the suspect driver was yelling profanity. Then took off and the victim took the exit and called 911.

EMS treated the victim who was shaken by the incident.

So far no arrests.

Ongoing investigation.
