Queens mother remembered after the tragedy on Friday

On Friday around 8:30am, the NYPD was called to the intersection of Gates and St Nicholas Avenue reporting a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle. The victim, identified as Jenny Maribel Chacho Sanchez, 32 died later at the local hospital after being transported by EMS. The driver of the box truck was stopped a few blocks down while making deliveries by cops after realizing what happened.

This is near the school where the victim dropped off her daughter while heading to work.

As of today, the investigation continues and the driver is cooperating with the detectives.
