Queens Village man busted for burglaries in Great Neck

Third Squad detectives report the arrest of a Queens Village man for incidents that occurred on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at 11:50 am in the Russell Gardens area of Great Neck.

According to detectives, Jonathan Guzman, 33, of 22162 91st Avenue, went to two different homes, one on Tain Drive and the other on Clent Road, pretending to be a sub-contractor for the Village of Russell Gardens, stating he needed to check gas and electric meters. Guzman, who was allowed access by the homeowners, then left the homes without any proceeds. The homeowners became suspicious and called the Russell Gardens Village Hall to inquire about Guzman and were informed that he was not an employee of the Village. An employee of the Village Hall then contacted police with his description and the vehicle he was driving.

Sixth precinct officers canvassed the area and located Guzman a short time later driving the described vehicle, pulled him over and placed him under arrest.

Guzman is charged with two (2) counts of Burglary 2nd Degree, two (2) counts of Criminal Impersonation 2nd Degree and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 5th Degree. He will be arraigned in First District Court, Hempstead on 8/29/2019. (From NCPD)
