Prosecutors are now using Mann and Travel Act to curb prostitution

Recently, a Flushing woman was sentenced to four years for sex trafficking using massage services with a call center operation.

Prosecutors were able to use the Mann Act and the Travel Act due to using online ads soliciting clients nationwide which falls under interstate prostitution business.

The investigation was uncovered between March 2011 and 2016.

One of the website they used was also targeting minors for recruitment primarily in the midwest.

The woman, a native of China was arrested when she was in Henrietta, upstate NY to oversee one of the operation.

Authorities reported more than 10 victims were moved around interstate to clients in one day. Most of them went back to China while others opted for help in the US for asylum.

The US attorney's office reported the woman identified as Chen made over $2 million a year. After her arrest, more and more massage parlors are focusing locally without using online to solicit customers.

One location is Prince and Main Street where business is booming.
