Property damage accident in the town of North Elba leads to DWI arrest

On January 26, 2025, at approximately 3:18 a.m., State Police members responded to Wilmington Road in the town of North Elba for a property damage accident. When the Troopers arrived on the scene, they observed a 2020 blue Chevrolet operated by Elizabeth A. Beaney, age 35, of Wilmington, NY. An investigation determined Beaney was traveling west on Wilmington Road, lost control, and went off the roadway. During the interview with Beaney, she was showing signs of impairment. Troopers administered SFST, which she failed. 

Beaney was arrested and transported to SP Ray Brook for processing, where she provided a breath sample with a BAC of .08 %. She was charged with driving while intoxicated and released on appearance tickets.
