Political candidates in LIC are gearing up for primary

Ignazio "Iggy" Terranova announced Grab and Go Lunches today and can be picked up at 10-38 41 Avenue. Iggy is also running for State Senate in LIC. Meanwhile his opponent, the current incumbent Mike Gianaris has not been successful with the real estate leaders or NYCHA after the Amazon collapse along with 25,000 jobs. People at the NYCHA reported the jobs was their ticket for better. Also, Gianaris's rent cancel bill for tenants has not passed after budget limit in the state. Gianaris is planning his next update for votes. The primary is in June 23. For the congressional side, Michelle Caruso-Cabrera has raised over $1 million against Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez who is at $3 million mostly from PAC committees raised while back. Cortez also has 13 candidates campaigning against her. Both Terranova and Caruso-Cabrera are Democrats. One interesting fact is when Bernie Sanders held rally at LIC with Ocasio-Cortez and Gianaris, the people attended were not from the area despite it was next to NYCHA who did not know about it.
