Police investigation at the local park in the Rockaways

The NYPD received calls of an individual last seen in the water at the local Jacob Riis Park in the Rockaways section of Queens. The incident was reported last night around 10:30pm. ESU divers located the individual and was brought to the shore later EMS pronounced dead. The medical examiner transported the body to conduct an autopsy.

Police didn't disclose additional details.

The investigation continues.
