Pedestrian bridge in Bayside scheduled for demolition tomorrow

The pedestrian bridge above LIRR at 216 Street will be demolished on October 12. The demolition will cost taxpayers $1.3 million. There will be no LIRR trains between Port Washington and Woodside from midnight to 8am. The bridge has been in bad shape and officials confirmed the demolition.
A plan for new bridge is still in the discussion stage with nothing decided between the community and city officials.
