One dead and multiple injuries on SSP eastbound

Police reported a single vehicle accident on Southern State Parkway eastbound at Exit 41A in Bay Shore with one dead and multiple injuries. The incident was reported around 3am. According to law enforcement, the vehicle, a 2019 Honda Civic moved from the parkway and struck a guard rail on the shoulder causing the vehicle lose control. All were taken to local hospitals. The driver, 19 year old died at the hospital. The investigation is ongoing and police are advising anyone saw the incident to call (631) 756-3300.
