Offshore wind facility coming to NYC

Brooklyn will be the first choice to setup one of the biggest off shore wind facilities in the nation. This is at the South Brooklyn Marine Terminal. The waterfront will be revitalized with new equipment and facilities for parts for turbines and construction parts. This is around $200 million budget. Over 13,000 jobs will be created for this project to make engines to setup in the Long Island ocean. This will power one part of NYC under the new green projects, The Empire Wind 1 and Beacon Wind Offshore. By 2030, NYC will target 70% of electricity from wind turbines. By 2040, 100% of NYC will be powered by wind turbines for electricity.
