Off to New Year with fatalities in Queens and Long Island

The NYPD reported a pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle in Corona. The driver took off from the scene. The incident was reported on January 1st around 4am on 37th Avenue near 100th Street, The same day in Ridgewood, a victim was stabbed at the intersection of Menahan Street and Woodward Avenue remains in critical condition. The incident occurred around 12pm.
For Long Island, the same day in Coram, a victim was stabbed in the vicinity of Dorchester Drive near Essex Drive. EMS reported the victim is in stable condition.
As for Nassau County, the first homicide reported in New Cassel where a recidivist who was out on bail was found shot in the vicinity of Railroad Avenue and Siegel Street. The incident was reported around 2am also on New Year's Day.
So far no arrests and all the incidents are under investigation.
