Northeast Queens to have a new division for auto crimes

The NYPD issued a new statement today of a new crime unit to combat auto thefts. Two locations reported the most incidents. One is northeast Queens stretching from the Nassau border to Flushing. The other one is the Bronx.

As of this week, NYPD reported 7,624 vehicles were stolen in NYC alone which is a record since 2006.

A new task force will be set up in the coming weeks and details will be announced.
