No liability for vehicle thefts in Glen Oaks

Almost every night, vehicles are broken into inside the shopping center of Glen Oaks between Union Turnpike and 260th Street. Most of the vehicles parked overnight belongs to the Co-op residents unable to get parking near their apartments. According to the management of the shopping center, they had posted signs of no vehicles are to be parked overnight leaving them out of liabilities of thefts. The security officer on duty at night are for observe and report only. Despite the signage, many Glen Oaks residents stated they rather not take chance of further walking at night for the fear of being robbed.
