No buyer for Fairway Market in Douglaston

Fairway Market in Douglastion is scheduled to close under Chapter 11 protection which was filed in January. Beside Douglaston, Westbury, Plainview and Red Hook in Brooklyn are slated to close with layoffs. The date of closure is between June 5 and June 19. 155 workers at Douglastion will be out of work after filing with NYS Dept of Labor. Meanwhile, the other Fairway Market stores were brought out by Village Super Markets and continue to operate as usual.
