Next target is Fort Totten for dead bodies

The mayor's office reported Fort Totten is on the list for burial for COVID19 victims. Fort Totten used to be a cemetery and converted into a park for the public. The staff will be arriving this week to review the area as the city's morgues are beyond capacity. Beside Fort Totten, Hart's Island is also on the list. The NYC Medical Examiner has reached a limit for bodies and unclaimed after 14 days will go to burial. After 14 days, if claimed by family members, the body will be removed from the burial sites to be transferred to funeral homes or crematorium.
