New scam out there for people to be on alert

The NYC Mayor's Office stated there are no text messages or emails sent out from the city to collect tolls.

There are a lot of scams with ezpass names looking similar allowing innocent victims to click that will result in violation of privacy and other personal information stored can be compromised.

There are also reports of stolen plates used at tolls displayed inside the EZ Pass accounts.

If your license plate is stolen, you should immediately report it to the police and file a police report, as you could be held responsible for any illegal activities committed using your stolen plate; then, visit your local DMV with the police report to get replacement license plates.
