New campaign in NYC against illegal automobile idling

Mayor de Blasio invited rocker Billy Idol for a press meet at City Hall against illegal automobile idling. This includes all vehicles of primarily commercial in both electric and gas from idling for more than 3 minutes. Emergency vehicles and others that need power to operate a loading device, like some delivery trucks, are exempt. The fine range from $350 to $2,000. The program also offers 25% reward for reporting to the city by taking pictures and send it in. This includes your neighbors who warm up their vehicles before going to work. The snitch like program also has drawback which is entering personal details to be in the city's system and report IRS for payments send out. The target zones for NYPD traffic agents to start issuing tickets are Chinatown, Port Authority, World Trade Center, Fulton Street, Richmond Terrace, Flushing, Roosevelt Avenue, and Commercial Fordham Road where timing will be recorded before issuing tickets.
