Nassau County Executive s first task on crime

The Nassau County Executive Blakeman signed the first order that all local police precincts must disclose daily reports on all arrested with bail status and nature of crime along with how many previous arrests including details if released without bails. It will start today.

The county stated this is to inform local residents about the potential threat of NYS bail reform laws posed to their safety.

This is Blakeman's quote,

“It’s time that Nassau residents and the lawmakers who passed these dangerous laws know exactly how they are impacting our communities. This executive order sheds sunlight on these dangerous laws and puts pressure on the governor and state lawmakers to put law abiding Americans above criminals.”

For 2021, of 11,005 county arrests, 9,699 were released without bails.
