NYC ending contact tracers

The NYC Test and Trace Corps as part of the vaxx and contact tracing is eliminating 874 jobs by end of April. This is due to cutting back costs after the vaxx season is declining.

This is the released message,

"Due to the reduced need for COVID-19 contact tracing efforts within the City of New York and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control [and Prevention] recommendation to cease universal COVID-19 contact tracing programs, NYC Health + Hospitals will be permanently separating 874 employees of the Test and Trace Program."

Another group mainly managerial positions will be out between May 13 and 27.

As of today, there are over 100,000 contact tracers nationwide which will be heading to closure in the coming months.

Around 2,000 workers mainly full time can apply to other units at the hospitals pending approvals.
