Multiple arrests at a NHP home

The NCPD reported multiple people under custody along with dogs after police confirmed squatters residing inside a home where the owner died while back. This is on Evans Street near Lakeville Road in New Hyde Park and the arrest was reported on June 20. The calls came from neighbors who reported people living illegally after the owner died.

Police apprehended three people after investigation, two males and a female, Hispanics, along with five pit bulls from the home. The dogs were taken to the Town of North Hempstead Animal Control.

All three were charged with criminal trespass.

Police didn't disclose details of how they were in the house.

The investigation continues.
