More grisly details released on the homicide investigation in Fresh Meadows

Police reported today the male found dead in the garbage dumpster next to the TD Bank on Union Turnpike and 164 Street died of trauma to the head. The Medical Examiner released the report. Police also stated a stolen garbage pail, a 55 gallon bin, that was found by the crime scene was captured on the video by a heavyset suspect dragging with the vicinity. On September 11, a neighbor’s ring shows the suspect leaving from the bank’s parking lot.

On September 20 around 6:30pm, a cleaner at the bank called 911 after seeing a human foot was out open on top of the dumpster. Police confirmed the body was undiscovered for a few days. The suspect was seen wearing a beige coat with gray pants and t-shirt covering face.

So far no arrests.

The investigation continues.
