Mayor and governor update on NY schools

From the governor, 107 school districts has not submitted their re-opening plans to both NYS Dept of Health and Education Dept. Friday is the deadline and if not received by then, those schools won't be allowed to open.
From the NYC mayor, more than 730,000 students opted to return to in-person to public schools while 66,000 teachers will also return to classes, that's 86% while the remaining 14% decided to remote teaching. Another 264,000 students opted for remote learning. The numbers doesn't include charter schools. Students can switch to either remote or in-person anytime.
The NYC mayor is also working on nurses, safety coordinator hiring, ventilation and affiliate with test and trace program. The schedules will go out starting August 17. Parents will not be allowed in public schools when opens.
Correction - A student can switch from in person to remote/distance learning at anytime. There will be certain specific re entrance dates for remote students to re enter the school building throughout the school year. So it?s anytime for a student to choose remote but not anytime for a student to come back into the building.
