Manhasset man busted for pointing a gun at a child

The NCPD arrested Michael Yifan Wen, 43 for allegedly pointing a gun at a 10 year girl in Manhasset on October 28 after a Halloween treat was mistakenly brought to the wrong house.

The incident was reported around 7:30pm when the mother was driving her kids to a house on Rockcrest Road. Her daughter went to drop a goody bag to a friend’s house after ringing the doorbell but soon the daughter told the mother it may be the wrong house as they were leaving.

The mother drove back to the house when the girl and her 6 year old brother went to retrieve the bag from the porch. 

This is when Wen allegedly opened the door, stepped out of the house and pointed a black handgun at the 6-year-old boy's head, according to police.

Police were notified of the incident and arrested Wen without incident.

Wen was arraigned Sunday at the First District Court in Hempstead.
