Man beaten with stick and threatened with knife by group of five in Queens street attack

A 36-year-old man was seriously injured in an early morning group assault outside a Roosevelt Avenue location in Jackson Heights, police said.

The incident occurred around 4:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 7, in front of 76-07 Roosevelt Avenue. According to police, the victim became involved in a verbal dispute with five unidentified individuals that quickly escalated into violence.

The group surrounded the victim, punching and kicking him repeatedly. One suspect brandished a knife and made verbal threats, while two others used a wooden stick to strike the victim multiple times, authorities said.

The victim sustained significant injuries to his head and lower back. EMS responded to the scene and transported him to NYC Health and Hospitals/Elmhurst, where he was listed in stable condition.

The attackers fled the scene on foot, heading northbound on 78th Street toward 37th Avenue, according to the NYPD.
