Man arrested after trying to rape a woman in Flushing

Police arrested Solomon Hudgins, 27 and charged with burglary, attempted rape, assault, sexual abuse, forcible touching and criminal mischief. The incident happened on Sunday, August 4 around 2am at a home in Flushing. Police reported the suspect broke into a home by ripping the screen door of window with his pants down exposing his private parts. The victim, a 64 year old female tried to fend off. The suspect also attacked the victim's 94 year old mother with the phone after she tried to call 911. The suspect fled the scene but was apprehended a short distance from the victims' apartment.
