Male busted for DWI in Island Park

The Nassau County Police Public Information Office reports the arrest of a Roosevelt man for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated ( Leandra’s Law ) that occurred in Island Park on Sunday, October 3, 2021 at 12:34 am.

According to police, a Fourth Precinct Officer on patrol did observe a 2007 Toyota failing to maintain lanes while traveling south on Austin Boulevard in the vicinity of the Long Beach bridge. The officer activated his lights and siren and performed a car stop on Austin Boulevard and Railroad Place. An investigation revealed that the defendant Jose E. Urquia Dominguez, 32, of 28 Mirin Avenue was operating his vehicle while under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. He was placed into police custody without incident. Additionally, the defendant was traveling with a 30-year-old female front passenger along with her female 2-year-old seated in the rear along with a 36-year-old male rear passenger. The child was released to her mother. There were no injuries reported.

Jose E Urquia Dominguez is charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated (Leandra’s Law) Driving While Intoxicated 1192.3, Operating a Motor Vehicle (over .08%) and multiple Vehicle Traffic Violations. He will be arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Sunday, October 3, 2021. (From NCPD)
