MTA completed a major grueling task

The MTA announced today all NYC subway stations are equipped with cameras for crime investigations. The task was a 2 year grueling operation since December 2020. Now all 472 stations have cameras to investigate crimes. The process speed up after crimes soared and ridership went all time low.

According to NYPD, for August the crime was 2.19 per 1 million riders. July had 1.78 and June with 1.77. For 2019, it was 1.47 per 1 million. At the same time, homeless spiked to almost 50% in NYC. Shelters are overcrowded leaving many in the streets and subways.
